Ways to Pay

Insurance & Self-Pay

Using health insurance?
Fees are approved by most health insurance providers. Please check your cover for both consultations and investigations with your insurer — including workplace health schemes — and obtain any pre-authorisation they require before booking.
Self-funding?
You are very welcome without insurance. Fees are payable at or before the appointment — the clinic team will confirm accepted payment methods when you book.
Cancellations.
Please give at least 24 hours' notice — the full fee is payable for cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice. For insured patients, your insurer may pass a non-attendance bill on to you.

A GP referral is helpful — and often required by insurers — but is not always necessary for self-paying families. If you're unsure, just ask when booking and the team will guide you.

Common Questions

Payment Questions

Do I need a GP referral?

Most health insurers require a GP referral before they will authorise a consultation. Self-paying families can often book directly — check when you book.

Are investigation costs included in the consultation fee?

Investigations are charged in addition to the consultation and are mostly invoiced by the hospital directly — as a guide, an echocardiogram is £600–£700 and an ECG £100–£125, with reporting included. You'll always know what a test costs before it is performed.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Please give at least 24 hours' notice so the slot can be offered to another family — the full fee is payable for late cancellations, and insurers may pass a non-attendance bill on to insured patients.

Are repeat prescriptions charged?

There is no charge for an initial repeat-prescription or email follow-up request; subsequent requests are chargeable.
